I’m sitting in Starbucks and one of the girls working just walked up to the (presumably) cute boy sitting with his back to me and put down a cookie or something in a bag and said “This is for you” with fits of laughter. He said thanks and she walked away and kept glancing back/continuing to laugh. She then proceeded to say “I’m sorry” repeatedly and clearly struggle with being embarrassed. His response was “that’s okay… I like free food.” And now I am feeling super awkward and there is whispering and gosh.
Is that what it’s like to be beautiful? Fending off suitors even while you’re studying at Starbucks? Fascinating.
[For the record, no one has offered me any free food today… or ever.]
